General Description
ThermaGlas triple-wall polycarbonate sheet is a high-efficiency product which represents a major improvement over existing double-wall panels. While still only 8 mm thick (to insure compatability with standard 8 mm panel engagement systems), innovative engineering has enabled Palram to create a panel that, compared to 8mm twin-wall, has:

    1) 14% more insulating efficiency
    2) 50% fewer internal ribs for improved aesthetics
    3) a heavy exterior wall for good impact resistance

Insulating Characteristics
The addition of an ultra-thin third center wall results in ThermaGlas' having two insulating air spaces instead of only one. This greatly increases ThermaGlas' insulating property, resulting in an R-factor of 1.9 instead of the 1.6 value of double-wall panels, a jump of almost 14%! In most cases, the slight additional cost of ThermaGlas is fully recovered by reduced heating costs in from one to three years! And thereafter the grower realizes big heating cost savings year after year!

Internal Rib Spacing
Conventional 8 mm double-wall products have very close internal rib spacings. This results in very "busy" looking panels which are lacking in aesthetic appeal. The 100% wider rib spacing of ThermaGlas provides greatly improved "see-through" qualities, making it a far more attractive choice for use in vertical wall applications, especially in retail oriented facilities.

Wall Thickness
In order to improve impact resistance, ThermaGlas engineers designed it with an extra-heavy exterior wall. With ThermaGlas, the grower is assured of good panel strength for resisting all types of impact loads and vandalism.

Long-Term Weathering
Incorporating the same co-extrusion process as its sister panel, DynaGlas Plus®, ThermaGlas' exterior surface fully resists U.V. radiation, resulting in a panel that is highly weatherable, durable and non-yellowing.

Condensation Control
ThermaGlas' double air space and higher R-Factor reduce condensation formation. The double tempering of the air results in lower inside/outside temperature differentials, both within the panel (the primary location of condensation formation on double-wall panels) as well as on the under side of the panel. Reduced indoor/outdoor temperature differentials = reduced condensation.

Heating Cost Savings, Payback Periods and Returns on Investment
ThermaGlas represents a major breakthrough in terms of providing the grower with a simple, yet highly effective means of radically increasing the return on his greenhouse investment.

The question: What is the net effect of buying a product which costs slightly more, but which results in substantial savings on an on-going basis? Click here for a conclusive answer.
