If your greenhouse is covered with old fiberglass, it's probably yellowed and unsightly. More importantly, it's probably not allowing much light to be transmitted to your crop. As a result, your crop's yield and quality may be suffering. Now you can get rid of your old fiberglass and get all the light transmission you've been wishing for.Regardless of whether your greenhouse is built of wood, pipe or even angle iron, you can easily replace your fiberglass with DynaGlas Plus corrugated polycarbonate using the the Palram DrainAway Re-Covering System. The DrainAway System eliminates the need for special pipe straps and spacers to fasten the covering to the structure. And nothing compares to DrainAway when it comes to collection and drainage of condensation. Check out the installation example below to get an idea of what kind of difference re-covering with DynaGlas can make. Or, for more information and a price quotation, click here. |

Arnie Thurip, owner of Pajaro Valley Greenhouses in Watsonville, CA, didn't need new greenhouses. His old IBG pipe truss houses were still in great shape --- and very strong. The only problem was that fiberglass had yellowed so badly, hardly any light was being transmitted to the crops below. Consequently, yields had fallen off significantly over the years. In the photo at left you can see how the fiberglass (bottom portion of photo) is yellow and opaque. The DynaGlas Plus LDT (top portion of photo) allows 90.5% PAR light transmission, while also diffusing light in the same way that Arnie's old fiberglass used to. |

The other thing Arnie was looking forward to changing was the way the covering was fastened to the pipe roof purlins. The fiberglass had been attached using "No-Drip Pipe Straps."Pipe Straps are difficult and costly to install, plus it makes it very difficult to perform maintenance after installation is complete because they bend so easily. The same holds true for No-Drip Spacers and No-Drip Angle Iron Straps. |

Conversely, Drainaway System components are made of sturdy and long-lasting extruded aluminum. The components are easily fastened to the existing purlins prior to installing the DynaGlas (see photo at left). After the DrainAway System components are in place, the DynaGlas can easily be fastened directly to them (see photo below). In the end, when condensate begins to flow down the inside of the panel, the DrainAway System components are designed to collect and remove the condensate from the structure---protecting the plants below from drips that could otherwise cause moisture-related disease. |

| After the job was complete, Pajaro Valley Greenhouses structure are litereally better than when they were brand new. DynaGlas Plus is virtually maintenance free, offers the highest impact resistance available, is virtually self-extinguishing when exposed to flame, and provides the highest light transmission of any type of glazing. In most cases, we'll have an easy way to re-cover any fiberglass structure built over the last 75 years. Click on the "Get me a Quote" button below to download a quote request form.
